Uppu Kappurambu 2025 Movie Review

In the 1990s, in the eccentric village of Chitti Jayapuram, Aparna (Keerthy Suresh), a novice in governance, is unexpectedly elected as the village head. In the same village, Chinna (Suhas), a gravedigger battling cancer, lives with his mother. During a panchayat meeting, Chinna highlights a peculiar crisis: only four spots remain in the village graveyard, sparking a frenzy among villagers to claim them. Amid this chaos, Chinna’s mother harbors a poignant dying wish. The story follows Aparna’s efforts to tackle the graveyard issue, Chinna’s support in her mission, and his quest to fulfill his mother’s final request.

The director earns praise for embracing such an unconventional, quirky, and bold narrative. Though unexpected, the story’s layers unravel into a genuinely captivating tale.

Suhas shines as a natural performer, consistently choosing unique roles. As the gravedigger, he delivers a heartfelt and authentic performance.

Keerthy Suresh ventures into uncharted territory with this role. Her quirky appearance and exaggerated antics early on are deliberate, injecting humor. While her performance feels unusual at first, she grows into the character, convincingly portraying Aparna’s evolution. Her bold choice to take on this role is admirable.

Babu Mohan as Muttayya and Shatru as Madhu Babu bring lighthearted charm, enhancing the film’s appeal. Talluri Rameshwari, though in a brief role, provides emotional depth, grounding the central conflict.
