Flight Risk 2025 Movie Review
Though it’s frustrating to admit, Mel Gibson’s latest film—despite his controversial persona—delivers solid entertainment. The action-suspense thriller, set almost entirely on a shaky small plane navigating the treacherous Alaska wilderness, keeps you on edge. Written by first-time feature screenwriter Jared Rosenberg, the script languished on the Black List for four years before Gibson brought it to life.
Michelle Dockery stars as Madelyn, a deputy US marshal tasked with arresting Winston, a bespectacled mob accountant played by Topher Grace. Winston, a white-collar crook hiding in a grim, remote Alaskan hotel, agrees to testify against his mob boss. Shackled as a flight risk, he’s escorted by Madelyn on a perilously small plane, piloted by the upbeat Texan Daryl Booth, played by Mark Wahlberg, to reach the nearest city for trial through a snowy, unforgiving landscape.
